Overview of the 21st Century CCLC Grant
This federally-funded program supports after-school community learning centers that operate on school campuses statewide. Services typically include academic intervention and enrichment clubs along with a broad array of youth development opportunities and parent/family programs. These extended-day classes complement the student's regular school day program. At Oak Creek School, students will be selected based on family interest and/or need for academic support. Registration forms are available here, as well as in the office. All students in the program attend Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:10 - 5:10, and Wednesdays from 1:10-3:10. Participation in the program is free-of-charge. After-School Clubs and Homework Help Students must attend all four days of the program. Parents of students who participate in the program must sign enrollment form before their child may attend. The Oak Creek After School Program will include an hour of academic support and an hour of enrichment activities. Students attending will also receive snacks free of charge. Enrichment activities (clubs) will vary by grade-level and will change at least every quarter to provide students with ample opportunity for varied experiences. Emergency Closing & Adverse Weather Conditions
In the event of a closing prior to school hours or an adverse weather day, radio station KVRD-105.7 FM or KYBC-1600 AM will make any announcement concerning an emergency closing. Such announcements will be made between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
If adverse weather or an Emergency closing occurs during school hours, every effort will be made to contact all parents by phone using the automated School Messenger System It is important that the school be given emergency phone numbers as well as the home phone number.
